Dear Eve Ensler,
As we have been object of manipulations and
accusations by the local V-Day Committee, we, as
mothers, relatives and close friends of young women
victims of kidnappings and murders, would like to
convey you that we have been forced to reduce or limit
our 14th February program to:
- a mourning mass for the anniversary of the
vanishing of Lilia Alejandra García Andrade, and to
the performance of the play “Women of Ciudad Juarez”,
from the group Sinergia from Los Angeles and directed
by Rubén Amevizca.
You are cordially invited to both of them and, in
any circumstances, we hope to be able to have the
short interview with you as it was proposed by your
representant.
It is not in our mind nor it is our intention to
boicot the celebrations of V-Day you generously
preside. But unfortunately we need to set aside
ourselves from any organization or person representing
local interests fostering or protecting abuse of
power. Unfortunately again, murdering women in our
city it has been and it is a political matter. We can
not collaborate with people who are attacking and
discriminating us fiercely.
We hope to have the opportunity to talk and answer
any of your questions.

Estimada Eve Ensler,
Como hemos sido objeto de manipulaciones y acusaciones
por el Comité local del V-Day, nosotras, como madres,
parientes y amistades cercanas de mujeres jóvenes
víctimas de secuestros y asesinatos, queremos
transmitirle que nos hemos visto obligadas a reducir o
limitar nuestro programa del 14 de febrero a:
- una misa de difuntas por el aniversario de la
desaparición de Lilia Alejandra García Andrade, y a la
representación de la obra de teatro “Mujeres de Ciudad
Juárez” del grupo Sinergia y dirigida por Rubén
Amavizca.
Está usted cordialmente invitada a ambos actos y,
en cualquier caso, esperamos poder tener la breve
entrevista con usted que nos propuso su representante.
No planeamos ni es nuestra intención boicotear las
celebraciones del V-Day que usted generosamente
preside. Pero desafortunadamente, necesitamos
deslindarnos de cualquier organización o persona que
represente intereses locales que fomentan o protegen
abusos de poder. Desafortunadamente de nuevo, asesinar
mujeres en nuestra ciudad ha sido y es un asunto
político. No podemos colaborar con gente que nos ataca
y discrimina ferozmente.
Esperamos tener la oportunidad de hablar con usted
y responder a cualquiera de sus preguntas.
